Mikkel Søholm Vestergaard
I started my career with Dan-Bunkering back in 2003 in the head office in Middelfart, Denmark. I was employed as Bunker Trader until 2006, where after I decided to pursue a career in a different line of business, both in Denmark as well as abroad. In 2013, I returned to the Dan-Bunkering group being responsible for various managerial tasks. I enjoy the challenging environment the shipping industry offers. My spare time is spent with my family (wife and two small kids), hunting, mountain biking and studying.
Prior to Dan-Bunkering, I studied Mechanical Engineering and started my career as a Project Engineer for an oil major. In this role, I developed several skills, including stakeholder engagement and risk management. In my free time, I am a frequent tennis player who enjoys a good game of golf and a night out with friends. I am looking forward to working with you to fulfill your bunkering requirements.
The international perspective is the core of our business and for me working with many different nationalities on a daily basis is a great pleasure. Learning and understanding new cultures is essential in achieving good and strong relationships with clients and co-workers. I speak English, German and of course Danish. Regardless the languages you speak, I am truly looking forward to assisting you in your future bunker purchase.
I have spent close to two decades within the bunker industry – and I have loved every second of it. Being in an industry which both directly and in-directly influences our lives is for me a vital part of the thrill and excitement of coming to work every day. I enjoy being able to communicate globally across borders with clients and colleagues in a vibrant business environment. The cliché “not two days are alike“ is often used, but I do believe this is how the bunker industry really is. When not being in the office I enjoy being a dedicated husband to my wife Lone and a devoted father to my two young daughters Frida and Filuka. Any spare time left is spent with friends and families, although I would never turn down a good game of golf.

Before Dan-Bunkering I was involved in logistics and port operations. I love the fast pace and constantly changing landscape of the maritime industry. There are so many different people and players that you must truly stand out from others in order to be recognized. Customer Service, building relationships, and delivering the best product in a timely manner are of the upmost importance when it comes to business. People are what make any operation great and I look forward to growing along with the company as we fulfill all your needs when it comes to bunkering.

I am a Mexican and Danish national. I studied Engineering but I realized that what really motivates me is trading. Dan-Bunkering gave me the opportunity to trade bunkers, for which I feel fortunate, and I try to work creatively to supersede both the customers’ and company’s expectations. Previous experience in the fields of trading, marketing and sales facilitate my tasks, however, in this industry there is constantly something new and the learning process is also fascinating. I travel a great deal to meet new people from around the world, hearing their opinions, learning from them, and helping whenever appropriate. Whatever your needs may be, I will do my best to handle the matter professionally, personally, and find you a timely optimal solution.
I was born and raised in Mombasa, Kenya and moved to Houston, Texas in 1992. I joined Dan-Bunkering in 2012 and really like it here. I got married in 2010, and I like to spend my spare time with my husband and family.
Prior to Dan-Bunkering I received my Masters Degree from Texas A&M at Galveston in Marine Resource Management focusing on Environmental Regulations effect on Maritime Business. The fast pace, competitive nature of the global trade industry drew me to bunker trading and I look forward to working with you to meet your individual logistics needs.
